Job summary

The Maine State Library in Orono seeks a Librarian – Specialized Services to support statewide online library resources, including MILS, Minerva, and MaineCat. You will provide first-level technical and customer support and collaborate with libraries across the state.

Required is a Master’s in Library Science and at least two years of professional library work; knowledge of library systems and ability to communicate clearly with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science and two years of professional library experience in the field of specialization.
• Or an acceptable equivalent combination of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Provides first-level technical support via ticketing system, video, telephone, and email to resolve problems encountered by users relating to online library resources and services.
• Responds to requests for support and changes to the various library systems coming from library staff at supported institutions and systems.
• Supports libraries with data, system statistics and training needs.
• Develops and maintains excellent communication with library staff at supported institutions.
• Represents Maine InfoNet at various stakeholder meetings.
