Job summary

Lamar University seeks a Librarian to provide research services, information literacy instruction, and outreach to support the research needs of LU constituents. The librarian will contribute to scholarship and service within and beyond the university.

Key duties include planning and delivering team-based research and instruction services, conducting in-person and virtual consultations, developing library guides, and engaging in outreach and professional service.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience with library instruction, reference, or other instructional formats in an academic library.
• Working knowledge of research strategies and library resources.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience collaborating with faculty, students, staff, or community members to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated passion for supporting student and faculty success.

Responsibilities

• Provide research services in person and virtually and conduct research consultations.
• Plan and deliver team-based instruction and library orientations.
• Develop instructional materials (lesson plans, tutorials, videos).
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy and emerging technologies.
