The Part-Time Librarian will deliverdynamic, high-quality library services to support the academic and culturalneeds of the campus community. This role emphasizes fostering inclusivity andequity in a learning-centered environment. The librarian position requiresflexibility to work at one or more of our on-campus locations and will reportdirectly to the Director of Library Services. Deliver in-person and virtual reference services to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons.
Design and lead information literacy instruction sessions across multiple formats (in-person, online, hybrid).
Develop, update, and manage digital learning resources, including research guides and tutorials.
Collaborate on collection development for print and electronic resources.
Provide frontline technology support to library users and assist with library software/hardware systems.
Partner with library staff to maintain and enhance the library website and online platforms.
Undertake special projects and additional dutiesas assigned by the Director of Library Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from anALA-accredited program (candidates nearing completion may be considered). PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in library instruction, classroom teaching, or workshop facilitation.
Proficiency in adopting emerging technologies and digital tools.
Familiarity with platforms such as Canvas, LibGuides, or multimedia editing software (e.g., Kaltura, Adobe Premiere).
Must be flexible, innovative and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Special Instructions: Waubonsee Community College Libraries is accepting applications for a part-time Librarian. This part-time role, approximately 20-25 hours per week, includes an evening and weekend schedule.
