Job summary

Qualifications

• MLS degree from an ALA-accredited library school; preferred with additional study in library, business and/or public administration.
• One year of experience as Librarian I in Merced County.
• Criminal history background checks may apply as per HR rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
• Assist patrons and explain library policies and procedures.
• Perform reference work at a professional level.
• Select, order, maintain, and weed collections.
• Present programming, story times, tours, and outreach events.
• Possibly supervise clerical/paraprofessional staff.
• Index and catalog materials.
• Provide readers advisory.
