The City of South Milwaukee's public library is seeking a Librarian to deliver professional library services with a primary focus on children's programming and reader's advisory. You will work under the Library Director, applying strong customer service and time-management skills in a busy urban library environment.

This position provides professional library services to patrons of all ages, but the primary focus will be children. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. This position is under the supervision of the Library Director.
Mondays 10:30am-7pm
Wednesdays 1pm-7pm
Thursdays 10am-4pm
Saturdays, on a rotation, working every fourth Saturday (in lieu of Thursdays on those weeks).
Work Schedule is subject to the operational needs of the library.
Education and Experience:
Networked personal computer, related software and peripherals; integrated library system, mobile devices; calculator; cash register; multi-line telephone; copy machine; fax machine; new technology as introduced and/or adopted.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, twist, talk, and hear (normal range in office environment, corrected or uncorrected); use hands to finger, handle, grasp; reach with hands and arms; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and push or pull up to 200 pounds. The employee must occasionally sit, crouch, and crawl, kneel, and climb.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
