The City of South Milwaukee seeks a Librarian to provide professional library services with emphasis on outreach. You will assist patrons of all ages, manage programs, and support collections.
Responsibilities include reference, reader's advisory, outreach events, and training staff, with a schedule that includes regular weekdays and rotating Saturdays. A Master's in Library Science is required or near completion, and public library experience is preferred.

This position provides professional library services to patrons of all ages, and will focus on outreach. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. This position is under the supervision of the Library Director.
Mondays 8:30am-5pm
Tuesdays 8:30am-5pm
Wednesdays 8:30am-5pm
Thursdays 10:30am-7pm
Fridays 8:30am-5pm
Saturdays, on a rotation, working every fourth Saturday (in lieu of Fridays on those weeks).
Work Schedule is subject to the operational needs of the library.

Networked personal computer, related software and peripherals; integrated library system, mobile devices; calculator; cash register; multi-line telephone; copy machine; fax machine; new technology as introduced and/or adopted.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift, twist, talk, and hear (normal range in office environment, corrected or uncorrected); use hands to finger, handle, grasp; reach with hands and arms; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; and push or pull up to 200 pounds. The employee must occasionally sit, crouch, and crawl, kneel, and climb.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
