Description

The Library Media Specialist plays a vital role in creating a safe, organized, and resource-rich environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position supports day-to-day library operations, instructional collaboration, student supervision, resource management, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aide students with research projects using print and digital resources.
  • Assist teacher-led classes.
  • Provide supplies and assistance to students and staff.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues involving printers, computers, and library equipment.
  • Supervise the library space for classes, events, and meetings; coordinate with facilities to ensure appropriate room set-ups.
  • Interact with vendors and business office for collection development, maintenance, and invoices submission.
  • Monitor students within the library to ensure a productive and respectful environment.
  • Serve as an advisor, attending chapel services, advisory sessions, and leading advisory curriculum.
  • Work closely with the library team to complete shared projects and tasks.
  • Train new library staff and serve as a leader in operational procedures.
  • Coordinate parent volunteers.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Information Management preferred.
  • Experience in a school library or educational setting required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable with Apple technology troubleshooting and digital resource platforms.
  • Capable of working independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating with finance departments is a plus.
  • Familiar with Gale, JSTOR, Infobase, Salem Press, Alexandria, Overdrive, Follett, MS Office, LibGuides, Canvas.
