Job summary

Pinon Unified School District seeks a Library-Media Specialist to operate and supervise the media center, coordinating materials, cataloging, and student access to resources. You will assist teachers in selecting books and instructional materials, and promote independent reading and reference skills among students.

Required are an Arizona Library-Media Specialist endorsement and a BA/BS in Library Science, plus related experience and ESL/Bilingual endorsement. Onsite benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Arizona Department of Education Library-Media Specialist endorsement.
• BA or BS in Library Science or related field.
• Bilingual or ESL endorsement is required.
• Proven related experience in a library-media setting.

Responsibilities

• Operates and supervises the district media center.
• Evaluates, selects, orders, and requisitions new materials.
• Maintains catalog systems and assists teachers with materials.
• Coordinates inter-library loans and reserves for teachers and students.
• Promotes reading and guides students in using reference resources.
