What We're Looking For:
The Beverly Hills Public Library seeks an experienced and passionate Librarian III to lead our Children’s Services Department. This role involves creating and implementing programs for children from birth to 6th grade, including storytime, school visits, and community outreach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early literacy and children’s programming, experience in collection development, planning summer reading programs, and engaging educational activities. You will build partnerships with local organizations and represent the City at various community events. The role requires active participation in library events and occasional Sunday work.
As the Children’s Services Department head, you will supervise full-time and part-time staff, oversee library policies and goals, handle scheduling, training, and evaluations, manage budgets, recommend resources, and support patrons directly. The ideal candidate will have experience in early literacy and community engagement, reporting to the Library Services Manager. Schedule and Hours:
This position is on-site, 5 days a week, with occasional evening and weekend hours depending on program needs.
Selection Process:

Possession of a Master’s of Library Science degree from an accredited institution, with specialized courses related to the assigned area, and at least five years of professional experience in a public library, including experience in the field of specialization, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
