The City of Avondale is seeking a Librarian II for the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department. The role leads branch staff, assists the Branch Manager, oversees operations, programming, marketing, and community outreach across library locations.

The ideal candidate has significant library experience, supervisory ability, and a commitment to high-quality customer service for diverse community users; bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressive experience in library services and programming.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working with diverse high-needs populations and community stakeholders.
• Ability to comprehend and produce written documents with proper grammar.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist Librarian III with establishing branch goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Monitor branch budget for staffing and supplies; prepare staff meetings.
• Oversee programming, marketing, and supervision of junior staff.
• Lead community outreach and mobile library operations; coordinate events.
• Order, catalog, and maintain library materials and digital access; manage collections.
