Job summary

The City of Westminster, CO is seeking a professional librarian to manage acquisitions and collection development. This role oversees library material budgets, ordering, vendor relations, and collaboration with Public Services to meet community needs.

Responsibilities may include cataloging and other Collection Management tasks as part of the team, with a focus on maintaining diverse, high-quality collections for Westminster residents.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college.
• Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Knowledge of collection development, maintenance, and acquisitions.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Experience working with library material vendors.
• Experience developing and maintaining library collections reflective of the communities they serve.

Responsibilities

• Research Westminster community needs and current publishing trends to inform collections.
• Oversee library material budgets and grant fund allocations.
• Coordinate order placement, cataloging, and vendor relations for acquisitions.
• Collaborate with Collection Management team and Public Services to meet community needs.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to staff and patrons.
