Job description

Job summary
This job consists in organizing and managing the library of the Florence School of Fashion and Art.
The role also consists in running the Library activities so as to provide a high quality service to students and tutors.

Key purpose of the role

  • To provide vision and leadership for the development of Florence resources, services, and policies;
  • To further develop the Fashion and Art Library collection through allocation of the annual budget and to purchase new material according to tutors’ suggestions and own knowledge of the curriculum;
  • To maintain all journal and electronic resource subscriptions, and analyze their popularity and performance;
  • To maintain and further develop Florence Library Management System;
  • To aid students in their research by suggesting relevant material and study methods;
  • To deliver inductions and information on Fashion and Art literacy presentations to all students;
  • To manage a network of photocopy machines and assist students and teachers in their usage;
  • To create monthly management reports in order to inform the Director of Education of the progress and developments of Fashion and Art;
  • To contribute to the work and development of the wider School administration team, and to take part in certain School-wide activities;
  • Take responsibility for particular services and support activities under the guidance of senior specialist staff;
  • To undertake other duties in relation to any customer-facing activities which may include: training events, road shows, staff/student committees and other roles substitution (reception for ex.).

Education and Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Politics-Economics- Humanistic -Languages;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Knowledge of Office Suite;
