Job summary

NextWave Publications in Las Vegas is seeking a dedicated Librarian Assistant to support the head librarian with cataloging, records, and customer service in a busy library setting.

The role emphasizes organizational skills, teamwork, and the use of library software. Entry-level candidates are welcome; a Bachelor's in Library Science or related field is preferred, with visa sponsorship for foreign applicants available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working in a library or customer service role is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software used in libraries.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cataloging and organizing materials in the library collection.
• Help maintain accurate records of library materials and transactions.
• Provide assistance to patrons in locating and accessing library resources.
• Assist with planning and implementing library events and programs.
• Monitor the use of library facilities and ensure a quiet and respectful environment for all patrons.
• Help with basic maintenance tasks such as shelving books and keeping the library clean.
