ADP, Inc. is seeking a Librarian/Archivist to join the Fort Meade, MD onsite team.

The Archivist will apply the Records Disposition Schedule to advise on retention, organize permanent collections, train Archives Technicians, coordinate projects with the customer, and maintain the records database. The role requires strong records analysis, detail-oriented documentation, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or active/previous clearance preferred.
  • Experience as Archivist, Archives Technician, or Records Management Officer.
  • Ability to read, analyze federal records and technical records.

Responsibilities

  • Create and prioritize lists of federal records eligible for permanent retention.
  • Analyze record types, provenance, original order, context, and subject contents.
  • Apply Records Disposition Schedule to retention/destruction decisions.
  • Communicate analysis of record groups and RDS to customers in writing and orally.
  • Create finding aids in the records database and describe records for retrieval.
  • Coordinate archival housing and supply needs with the customer.
  • Prepare weekly project status reports and communicate with customers.
  • Train and assist Archives Technicians in record identification and preservation.
  • Maintain professional, proactive relationships with customers.

Position Summary:

The Archivist will use the customer's Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) to make recommendations on the retention of federal records, arrange and describe permanent record collections, train and supervise Archives Technicians, coordinate projects with the customer, contribute to maintenance of the records database, and act as a customer service liaison.

  • Create and prioritize lists of federal records eligible for permanent retention and assign record groups to Archive Technicians.
  • Analyze record types, provenance, original order, context, and subject contents of federal records groups.
  • Apply the Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) to make recommendations for the retention or destruction of permanent and temporary federal records.
  • Communicate orally and in writing your analysis of federal record groups, applicable RDS, retention, and plan for arranging and describing permanent records.
  • Create finding aids in the records database. Describe records in sufficient detail so that they can be identified and retrieved by the customer.
  • Select appropriate housing materials for various material types and coordinate archival supply needs with the customer.
  • Prepare weekly reports on the status of ongoing projects and communicate project status and concerns to customers during routine meetings.
  • Train and assist Archives Technicians in the identification of recordtypes, material formats, provenance, original order, applicable RDS, arrangement, description, handling, housing, and preservation of federal records.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers, and be proactive in meeting expected goals and resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active or prior (preferably recent)TS/SCI clearance

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Archivist, Archives Technician, or Records Management Officer.
  • 0-2 years performing the duties of the position: Level A
  • 2-4 years performing the duties of the position: Level B
  • 4+ years preforming the duties of the position: Level C
  • Master of Library Science degree from an accredited institution
  • Good interpersonal communications skills, and the ability to work well as a team and individually
  • Ability to read, analyze and develop a working understanding of federal records, including highly technical or specialized records.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and team members and complete projects promptly.
