The Opportunity
The University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries seeks a dynamic leader to elevate our collections and enhance resource discovery. The Associate Dean for the Resources & Discovery (RD) division will oversee Acquisitions & Collection Services, Document Delivery & Resource Sharing, Metadata Creation & Management, and Special Collections & University Archives (SCUA). This role drives initiatives that support faculty and student success, advance knowledge creation, and broaden engagement with our diverse collections. Primary Responsibilities:
Champion innovative approaches to enhance acquisitions, collections, resource sharing, and metadata services.
Align division initiatives with the university’s mission and the Libraries’ Strategic Directions.
Collaborate with library leadership to drive impactful outcomes.
Ensure accountability and management of operational and financial resources, including the materials budget.
Forge strategic partnerships and drive collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library and/or information science at the time of hire from an accredited institution; or an advanced degree at the time of hire in a related field combined with academic library experience.
Successful experience leading a team.
Scholarship and professional service commensurate with holding the rank of University Librarian.
Preferred Qualifications:
Landmark accomplishments related to acquisitions, collections, resource sharing, metadata services, or discovery.
Ability to inspire and lead teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive and exceed strategic objectives.
Adept at implementing or managing a Library Services Platform.
Aptitude for developing and implementing forward-thinking plans that align with library objectives.
Expertise in communicating budget management issues in terms of quantitative and qualitative impact.
