Job summary

AAR Corp. in Lake City, Florida, seeks a Level I Liaison Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for airframe issues during maintenance and modification of transport aircraft.

You will develop expertise on FARs, EASA, ADs, and AMOC processes under supervision. You will respond to technical requests via the RFTS system, design repair data, produce engineering reports, and coordinate with manufacturers and vendors to support technical and commercial interests.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or related scientific field; equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
• Minimum one year experience using SolidWorks or a comparable CAD program with demonstrable proficiency.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must possess working knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide the primary technical response to AAR Production via the RFTS system with ongoing interaction with Production personnel.
• Design repair data for aircraft defects beyond the scope of FAA approved repair documentation.
• Provide engineering data and reports to substantiate repairs dispositioned by AAR Engineering.
• Serve as the primary focal point for customers regarding engineering and technical issues related to in-service aircraft.
• Research and review engineering data to define aircraft structure or systems and determine the most efficient repair method.
• Maintain accountability for estimates versus actual expenditures.
• Coordinate with major manufacturers, vendors and outside agencies to support technical and commercial interests.
• All other duties as assigned.

Description:

The level I Liaison Engineer provides engineering & technical support for airframe related problems encountered during maintenance and modification of transport category aircraft. Through work performed, develop expertise and knowledge of aircraft structures and mechanical systems related to the airplanes worked at AAR Airframe MRO (AAR). Develop expertise on Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Airworthiness Directives (AD's), Alternate Means of Compliance (AMOC) and related regulatory requirements and processes. This job would typically be performed under the supervision of an experienced Liaison Engineer.

What you will be responsible for:

• Provide the primary technical response to AAR Production via the Request for Technical Services (RFTS) system through continued interaction and visibility with Production personnel.
• Design repair data for aircraft defects that are beyond the scope of the applicable FAA approved repair documentation.
• Provide engineering data and reports as required to substantiate and document repairs that are dispositioned by AAR Engineering.
• Serve as the primary focal point for AAR customers regarding engineering and technical issues related to in service aircraft.
• Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) to define aircraft primary and secondary structure or systems to determine the most efficient method of repair.
• Maintain accountability for estimates verses actual expenditures.
• Perform work with adherence to internal AAR policies and procedures.
• Coordinate, in a professional manner, with major manufacturers, vendors and other outside agencies to support AAR’s technical and commercial interests.
• All other duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

• BS Degree in Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
• Minimum one (1) year experience utilizing Solid works (or comparable CAD program) with demonstrable proficiency.
• Must read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must possess working knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office.
