Job Summary

The Liability Specialist is responsible for managing various aspects of the medical file review and scheduling process. They review completed referrals to ensure client questions are addressed appropriately and verify report accuracy, meeting client and department standards. This role requires specialized knowledge of liability IME and involves independently managing all operations of the liability IME process.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Handling Receipt of New Cases:
  • Intake new cases, review/verify information, and draft cases by entering data into Dane Street system, AccessDS.
  • Coordinate with clients on missing pertinent information.
  • Organize and create medical document listings as required by the client and specific handling instructions.
  • Assignment of Cases:
    • Assign/schedule cases to physicians based on location, availability, guidelines, jurisdiction, and client requirements.
    • Ensure no conflicts of interest with assigned physicians.
  • Oversight of Cases:
    • Monitor, process, and track cases to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Audits:
    • Review reports for completeness and adherence to client questions.
    • Follow up with reviewers and clients for clarifications.
    • Update clients regularly on case progress.
    • Ensure reports are grammatically correct and meet QA standards.
    • Format reports for approval.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain clear communication with customers, reviewers, and operations.
    • Confidently discuss IME/record reviews with physicians and clients.
    • Document referral information properly.

    Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Healthcare and/or insurance business experience preferred.
    • Experience with technology-based processes.

    • Exceptional communication skills.
    • Critical thinking, time management, and deadline adherence.
    • Computer literacy and typing skills.

    Working Conditions

    • Physical activities as needed, including lifting, bending, traveling.
    • Prolonged sitting and computer work.

    Work from Home Requirements

    • Own internet service and support.
    • Uninterrupted internet connection required.
