Job summary

Illapa Search Ltd is seeking an experienced Leveraged Finance Partner to join its national finance practice in New York. You will lead sponsor-backed leveraged finance transactions and advise financial institutions, private credit funds, and corporate borrowers on complex financing matters.

The ideal candidate has a substantial track record in cross-border financings, multi-lender facilities, intercreditor agreements, and strong leadership and client advisory skills. A J.D.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Leveraged Finance Partner or senior leveraged finance attorney at a leading national or New York-style law firm.
• Extensive experience advising financial institutions, private credit funds, BDCs, non-bank lenders, private equity sponsors, and/or corporate borrowers.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage sophisticated transactions and advise clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead sponsor-backed leveraged finance transactions, including acquisition financings and syndicated facilities.
• Advise clients on complex credit arrangements, intercreditor agreements, subordination, and multi-lender structures.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to national platform growth.

Job description

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Leveraged Finance Partner to join its growing national finance practice. This is an opportunity for a sophisticated finance attorney with a strong track record in leveraged finance and private credit to join a high-performing platform and advise leading financial institutions, private credit funds, BDCs, non-bank lenders, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers on complex financing transactions.

The successful candidate will have significant experience leading sophisticated sponsor-backed leveraged finance transactions, including acquisition financings, syndicated and multi-lender facilities, unitranche and first-out/last-out structures, senior and mezzanine debt, asset-based lending, and other complex credit arrangements.

Partner Profile & Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Significant experience as a Leveraged Finance Partner or senior leveraged finance attorney at a leading national or New York-style law firm.
• A substantial track record advising financial institutions, private credit funds, BDCs, non-bank lenders, private equity sponsors, and/or corporate borrowers.
• Extensive experience leading sponsor-backed acquisition financings, including cross-border and multi-currency transactions.
• Deep expertise in cash-flow and asset-based lending, including senior, senior-stretch, and superpriority revolver structures.
• Significant experience with multi-lender and syndicated facilities, intercreditor agreements, and subordination arrangements.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage sophisticated transactions and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
• A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to a state bar in good standing.
• Admission in New York is preferred, or eligibility to obtain admission.
