Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Level I Rope Technician 3 to join our team in Texas. This hourly role involves performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs in hard-to-reach areas using rope access techniques, often at height, in industrial settings.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, IRATA or SPRAT Level II certification, a valid driver’s license, and a TWIC card. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and safety‑conscious Level I Rope Technician 3 to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs in hard‑to‑reach areas using rope access techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be comfortable working at heights in various environments, including construction sites. To perform intermediate‑level, highly skilled rope access professional capable of performing advanced rigging, complex rescues, and limited supervision under the direction of a Level lll supervisor. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform rope access work in inspection, maintenance, repair, and other industrial tasks in difficult-to-reach areas
• Rig and set up rope access systems (pulley systems, anchor points, descent/ascent lines) and verify systems before use
• Conduct advanced rigging and perform more complex rescue procedures in accordance with employer’s rope access program and IRATA/OSHA standards
• Inspect, maintain, and store all rope access equipment; ensure proper use of PPE
• Identify and control hazards at the worksite, notify the Rope Access Supervisor, and take corrective action
• Follow work permits, job hazard analyses, and site‑specific safety procedures
• Assist in rescue operations and maintain proficiency in rescue techniques
• Document work performed and report issues or incidents
• Provide limited supervision to Level I technicians or other Level II technicians when authorized by the Rope Access Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience: 4+ years of Journeyman level experience.

Certification/Licenses: IRATA or SPRAT Level Il, a Valid Driver's License, and a TWIC Card.
