The Level II NDE Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Perform Level II radiographic inspections to inspect materials, components, and structures for defects or irregularities.
- Set up and operate radiographic equipment in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards, producing quality radiographs.
- Calculate, establish, and control radiation areas.
- Adhere to quality control procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Interpret radiographic images to identify and evaluate flaws and abnormalities.
- Document test results, including writing reports and maintaining accurate records of inspections.
- Collaborate with management to ensure testing procedures meet project requirements.
- Manage long-term projects effectively by communicating with customer/client representatives and management to meet deadlines.
- Participate in training programs to stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in radiographic testing.
- Guide and train trainees and assistants in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, procedures, and company practices.
- Perform additional NDE methods like MT, PT, and UT.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support other regions.
Skills:
Required:
- Current or previous certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A Level II RT, MT, PT, and UTT methods.
- Valid State Radiographer's card or IRRSP card.
- Fluent in manual film processing.
- Strong knowledge of applicable welding codes (ASME, API, AWS, etc.).
- Experience managing projects as a Level II Radiographer.
- Educational background relevant to the role.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle History Evaluation.
- Ability to pass FBI background check.
- Compliance with Drug/Alcohol, Fit for Duty, and Ergonomic Testing policies.
- Must pass Level II testing methods upon hire.
Preferred:
- SNT-TC-1A/ACCP Level II certifications or equivalent field hours and education.
- Successful completion of company's Level II MT, PT, and UT certification process.
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher education.
