Description

The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Level II Technicians organize and report NDT results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: setting up and calibrating nondestructive testing equipment; conducting tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods; establishing examination techniques; applying testing criteria per specifications; interpreting radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators; organizing and reporting test results; performing specialized inspections; and instructing and supervising others.

Additional tasks as assigned by management.

Experience & Requirements
  • NDT Level II RT with OJT and state certification card.
  • Preferred: NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • Proven ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a DISA Background check and all required drug screens.
  • Must test in all required methods with XCEL.
