Job summary

XCEL NDT, LLC. seeks a Level II PAUT Technician with UTSW in Odessa, TX to perform calibrations, nondestructive testing, and evaluations per applicable codes and standards.

You will set up PAUT equipment, interpret results, document findings, and guide Assistants and Level I Technicians in safe, effective testing. A strong NDT background and Level II PAUT certification are required, with RT/MT/PT/UTT extra certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• NDT Level II PAUT certification is required.
• Additional NDT Level II certifications in RT (with OJT and state card), MT, PT, and/or UTT preferred.
• Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate PAUT and other nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities (defects) using approved NDT methods.
• Establish proper examination techniques, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Apply inspection criteria per applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
• Interpret readings from digital displays, radiographs, conductivity meters, or other indicators.
• Organize, document, and report test results accurately.
• Perform specialized inspections as required.
• Provide training and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
• Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

This role requires the ability to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results, and maintain accurate records.
