Job summary

DeSHAZO, LLC in Alabama is seeking an experienced Level II NDT Inspector to perform non-destructive testing of welds, fabricated components, and manufactured products to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements.

You will apply VT, MT, PT, and UT methods, inspect welds and components, interpret results, document findings, and support audits and continuous improvement with Manufacturing, Welding, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Current ASNT-TC-1A Level II certification in applicable NDT methods.
• Minimum 2 years of NDT experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments.
• Experience inspecting welds, structural steel, and fabricated components.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Working knowledge of AWS, ASME, and ASTM standards.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Level II NDT inspections using VT, MT, PT, and UT as qualified.
• Inspect welds and fabricated components for defects and discontinuities.
• Interpret test results according to codes, standards, and specifications.
• Verify compliance with drawings, welding procedures, and customer/quality requirements.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or workmanship.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Welding, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain inspection equipment and calibration records.
• Support audits, customer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Inspect welds and fabricated components for defects and discontinuities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Current ASNT-TC-1A Level II certification in one or more applicable NDT methods.

• Experience inspecting welds, structural steel, and fabricated components.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in heavy manufacturing, crane manufacturing, or structural steel fabrication.
• Multiple NDT certifications (VT, MT, PT, UT).
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 welding requirements.
• Experience supporting corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and access large fabricated components.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.

Work Environment: Manufacturing and fabrication environment with exposure to welding operations, heavy equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
