Level II Advanced Services Technician (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, ET, DR/CR) - North Carolina

This position involves performing calibrations, nondestructive testing (NDT), and evaluations for acceptance or rejection according to written instructions, and recording results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret results, and evaluate findings according to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Setting up and calibrating nondestructive testing equipment.
  2. Conducting tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods.
  3. Establishing examination techniques to ensure safety and accuracy.
  4. Applying testing criteria according to specifications and standards.
  5. Interpreting radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
  6. Organizing and reporting test results.
  7. Performing specialized inspections.
  8. Supervising and instructing others as needed.

Qualifications:

  • NDT Level II RT with OJT and state certification.
  • Preferred: NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass DISA Background check, drug screens, and site safety requirements.
  • Must test out in all required NDT methods with XCEL.

Desired skills: Strong work ethic, safety and quality awareness, mechanical aptitude, adaptability, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to follow procedures.

Work conditions:

  • Lift objects over 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding up to 250 feet with safety gear.
  • Work extended hours in various environments, including extreme temperatures and industrial hazards.
