Position Overview

The NDE Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive testing, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection according to written instructions, recording results accurately. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret, and evaluate results in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. They are familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used and are responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians.

Responsibilities
  1. Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
  2. Conduct tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities using NDT methods.
  3. Establish proper examination techniques, adhering to safety regulations.
  4. Apply testing criteria according to standards and evaluate results.
  5. Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
  6. Organize and report test results.
  7. Perform specialized inspections and supervise others as needed.
Qualifications
  • NDT Level II RT with OJT and state certification.
  • Preferred: Level II MT, PT, UTT.
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass DISA background check, drug screens, and safety training.
  • Must test in all required NDT methods with XCEL.

Physical Requirements
