Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Level B Automotive Technician to join our team in Alameda. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who is comfortable performing a variety of automotive repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic work while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, be able to work independently on routine to moderately complex repairs, and take pride in completing work accurately and efficiently. Candidates must have their own tools necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and automotive repairs on a variety of vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns using appropriate diagnostic equipment and procedures.
• Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling system, and other general mechanical repairs.
• Complete oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect vehicles to identify necessary or recommended repairs.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and additional service recommendations.
• Follow repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Communicate with Service Advisors and other team members regarding vehicle condition, repair progress, and additional concerns.
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs are completed correctly before vehicles are returned to customers.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and shop policies.
• Assist other technicians and team members as needed to maintain efficient shop operations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and general repair procedures.
• Ability to diagnose and repair routine to moderately complex automotive issues.
• Experience with brakes, suspension, steering, preventative maintenance, and general mechanical repairs.
• Comfortable using diagnostic equipment and automotive repair technology.
• Ability to accurately follow repair orders and technical procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple repair assignments.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must have your own automotive tools required to perform the position.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Compensation

$34.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience, technical skill level, and qualifications.
