Position Overview:
Mr. Kitt’s Service Center is seeking a skilled and reliable Level A or B Automotive Technician to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of automotive systems, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. This position plays a critical role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles while providing top-notch service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic & Repair Work:
  • Perform thorough diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Accurately identify and repair issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, exhaust, and electrical systems.

Preventative Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and inspections.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety and performance standards before returning them to customers.

Parts Replacement & Installation:
  • Replace worn or defective parts, including timing belts, spark plugs, filters, and other components.
  • Ensure parts are properly installed and vehicles are road-tested for optimal performance.

Customer Interaction:
  • Clearly explain repairs recommendations to service advisors or customers when required.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor with customers and team members.

Documentation & Compliance:
  • Document all repairs, services, and parts used with accuracy.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and local/state regulations.

Mentorship (For Level A Techs):
  • Assist in mentoring less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
Level A Technician:
  • ASE Certification or equivalent manufacturer training preferred.
  • Extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing complex systems across multiple vehicle brands.
  • Proficiency in advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently on major repairs, including engine rebuilds and electrical diagnostics.
Level B Technician:
  • 2+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • Solid understanding of common automotive systems and the ability to perform intermediate-level repairs.
  • Basic diagnostic skills with the ability to escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Strong focus on preventative maintenance and safety.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
