Level 2 Engineer - Technical Services (On-Site)

Presenting the Level Two role at Medicus IT, where we're taking IT support to the next level. You'll spearhead the implementation of customer-facing cloud environments, on-premise infrastructure, and telephony systems, all while delivering exceptional client experiences daily. Your responsibilities include resolving escalated service tickets, providing guidance on complex issues, and mentoring Technicians and Level One team members.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service in all interactions.
- Resolve service tickets, including escalated and complex issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve client emergencies with minimal oversight.
- Mentor and coach Technicians and Level One team members.
- Assist with design, implementation, and support of desktop, mobile, telephony, server, storage, and network systems.
- Work with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues.
- Install and upgrade Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
- Perform advanced virus, malware, and ransomware mitigation.
- Maintain server room cable management and documentation.
- Resolve backup issues and perform restore testing.
- Support virtual environments in VMWare ESXi and Hyper-V.
- Enhance security posture through policies and technologies.
- Communicate with clients regarding incidents and changes.
- Participate in after-hours and on-call rotations (minimum 6 months experience and supervisor approval required).
- Perform on-site support, including repairs, maintenance, and network management.
- Lead technical projects and participate in planning and mentoring.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Education
- Associate's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years as a Systems Engineer or similar role in Microsoft environments.
- Certifications: Network+, Server+, Windows Server 70-410, 98-365, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2012/2008, Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, Backup Technologies, DNS, Email, and Communication issues.
- Experience with VMWare, Citrix, VPN, and Terminal Services.
- Knowledge of VoIP and related hardware/software.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and remain professional under stress.
