Prescient Edge seeks an experienced Level 2-5 Integration and System Engineer to perform comprehensive test procedures, navigate mission systems GUIs, and produce detailed reports. The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers and working across software and hardware interfaces to ensure robust testing practices.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with diverse test methods (unit through performance) and strong technical communication skills to document findings and drive improvements

Competenze

• Self-driven and able to perform test procedures with minimal direction.
• Understanding of software and systems engineering concepts related to testing.
• Familiarity with mission systems and GUI navigation.
• Ability to write clear test reports and create detailed JIRA tickets.
• Experience with multiple test methods (unit, integration, functional, end-to-end, acceptance, performance, smoke).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent, or substantial related experience.
• Strong technical communication and mentorship skills.
• Ability to learn independently and present test concepts to others.
• Mentorship to new engineers and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Testing Competence:

• Engineer is self-driven and able to perform test procedures with little or no direction required.

Basic Hardware & Software Understanding

• Demonstrates a basic understanding of software and systems engineering concepts as well as how they correlate to testing procedures.

Mission System Familiarization

• Has developed an understanding of the relevant mission systems, able to navigate its Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) with minimal guidance, and understand how it interacts with the integrated hardware and software components.

Test Reporting

• Writes detailed test reports enabling easy comprehension of test actions completed. Engineers at this level are also able to read, write, and test tickets using JIRA and other required ticket tracking software. Writes clear and concise JIRA tickets providing sufficient description of the encountered issues to help guide software engineers toward solutions.

Test Methods

Tests software utilizing multiple different testing techniques including:

• Unit Testing
• Integration Testing
• Functional Testing
• End-to-End Testing
• Acceptance Testing
• Performance Testing
• Smoke Testing

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Equivalent-

Have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field.

OR

Comparable Years Of Work Experience

Have a comparable level of work experience in test engineering related fields if lacking educational requirement.

Detailed Technical Communication

• Thinks broadly about problem scope, organizes analysis into testing frameworks, and produces simple visual representations of complex information.

Mentorship

• Provides mentorship to new engineers, assisting them in their understanding of testing procedures as well as hardware and software system architecture.

Independent Learning

• Able to solve problems independently and improve their skillset outside of the project environment.

Present Test Engineering Concepts

• Has delivered at least one presentation on important test engineering concepts to members of the Prescient Edge team. This Milestone demonstrates the engineer’s detailed understanding of the testing concepts and procedures as well as their ability to convey these ideas in a digestible manner.
