Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Level 1 Medication Aide certification from DHSS/DMH preferred (DD Medication Aide).
• Insulin certification preferred.
• Must complete continuing education (4 hours every 2 years) and maintain TB documentation and CPR/AED certification.
• If not Level 1 certified, must complete internal training to remain employed post-probation.
• Must pass background check and obtain security clearance where applicable.
• One year experience in acute care, emergency, or correctional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the facility Director of Nursing, administers medications as prescribed.
• Documents medication effectiveness and any adverse actions or side effects.
