Gills Point S Tire & Auto in Michigan is seeking a Level 1 Mechanic to join our shop. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of vehicle systems, working in a professional, team‑oriented environment with stable hours and ongoing training.

This role covers brake, steering and suspension, charging and electrical systems, and routine tune‑ups. Strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and a valid driver’s license are required; ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Automotive technical training preferred.
• 2–4 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• ASE A4 (Steering & Suspension) and A5 (Brakes) preferred, or willingness to earn.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake systems.
• Diagnose and repair steering and suspension components.
• Diagnose charging system concerns and replace components.
• Perform tune-ups and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify repair needs.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and document service records.
• Communicate professionally with customers and collaborate with service advisors.
