Job summary

An established industry player is seeking multiple L1 and L2 Desktop Technicians for an exciting project in Midtown NYC. This role involves installing and configuring desktop and workstation equipment, ensuring a smooth setup for a new building. Technicians will work in two shifts, Monday through Friday, and will be required to document their work meticulously. Successful candidates will possess strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and will receive mandatory training prior to the project start. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment with potential for project extension into 2026.

Job description

L1 and L2 Desktop Technicians (multiple positions)

Location: Midtown NYC - ONSITE

Shift: 2 shifts available: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm and 3 pm to midnight

Duration: 6 month project: June 2025 - Dec 2025 (40 hours) could extend into 1st quarter 2026

Initiative: Desktop Set Up for new building

Job Description/ Responsibilities

  1. Install, configure, troubleshoot desktop and workstation equipment and software, including telephones, desktop/laptop computers (Microsoft and Apple), and printers.
  2. Handle equipment installation and moves with little or no supervision.
  3. Able to identify, analyze and resolve basic troubleshooting items but defers to supervisor or Level 1 tech for more complex hardware issues.
  4. Basic knowledge of the organization's equipment and associated software and services.
  5. Work well under supervision.
  6. Training will be provided.

Qualifications:

  1. Excellent communication skills.
  2. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  3. Positive and professional demeanor.

Training: All technicians for this effort will be required to participate in a mandatory, in-person, training session. This training session will occur before the project begins.

SCOPE OF WORK for Day Crew - Level 2 Desktop Technician

  1. Day crew will work each day to install all the equipment that has been staged by the night crew.
  2. Work will have to be documented for what equipment was successfully installed and any errors that occur, within provided SmartSheets link.

SCOPE OF WORK for Night Crew - Level 1 Desktop Technician

  1. Night crew will work overnight to stage each desk with the necessary equipment.
  2. Standard desk includes two monitors, VDI, camera, and peripherals.
  3. There will be additional equipment for each trader desk.
  4. Work will have to be documented within provided SmartSheets link: what equipment has been staged at what desk.
