Role Overview

The Licensed Optician helps establish LensCrafters as a premier destination for vision needs by delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome customers and set expectations
2. Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses
3. Lead in optical expertise
4. Take and record measurements, adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensure standards and customer needs are met
5. Assist with complex product needs and prescriptions
6. Use technology accurately and thoroughly under time pressure, maintain product knowledge, utilize appropriate tools
7. Explore root causes of issues proactively, think forward, ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations, be solution-driven
8. Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and handle competing priorities
9. Achieve results on Brand KPIs and competencies
10. Maintain store appearance: clean, attractive, organized
11. Report safety concerns and follow safe work practices
12. Be resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement
13. Adhere to company policies, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• State Licensure
• Optical dispensing experience
• Strong customer service skills: communication, listening, teamwork
• Knowledge of current store merchandise
• Basic math skills
• Awareness of current fashion trends
• Selling skills and ability to operate an iPad/tablet
• Familiarity with POS systems, computers, calculators
• Openness to new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service and retail experience
