GENERAL FUNCTION

The Assistant Manager acts as a leader in the absence of, or in support of, the Store Manager and behaves as a business owner within the marketplace and organization. Represents LensCrafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community and delivers key performance metrics.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs): sales, traffic, profitability, customer satisfaction, and retention.
• Understand retail business operations and market trends; support store business plans to maximize sales and profit.
• Support the store manager in team leadership, training, and development.
• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and creating a talent pipeline.
• Maintain store appearance and visual standards.
• Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Address problems proactively and seek long-term solutions.
• Perform administrative duties and maintain a safe working environment.
• Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• If licensed, provide expertise on lens choices, adjust and repair eyewear, and perform digital measurements.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state Opticianry license.
• At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of retail operations and policies.
• Strong math skills and familiarity with cash registers and computers.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proven sales and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Knowledge of optics and store merchandise.
• Additional certifications such as ABO or Brand Final Inspector.
