GENERAL FUNCTION

The Apprentice Optician creates value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience, ensuring customers are delighted through key selling steps.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, explaining processes, assisting with merchandise selection, fitting, solving visual challenges, and dispensing eyewear.
• Serve as a center of excellence, modeling service and selling standards.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs and budgets, and support colleagues with complex product needs.
• Identify and address potential problems proactively, seeking long-term solutions.
• Show patience and courtesy, educate customers on services and guarantees, and ensure precise measurements and fittings.
• Ensure eyewear meets optical standards and customer requests.
• Achieve personal and store results, serve as a role model, and operate POS systems accurately.
• Explain processing and delivery times, and guide customers on pickup procedures.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure safety practices.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and team skills
• Knowledge of optical theory, merchandise, and basic math
• Awareness of fashion trends and familiarity with POS systems
• Open to embracing new technology and change

Preferred Qualifications

• Studying for LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
• Optical dispensing experience and previous retail/customer service experience
