GENERAL FUNCTION

The Apprentice Optician creates value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience, ensuring customers are delighted through our selling model.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, explaining processes, assisting with merchandise selection, fitting, solving visual problems, and dispensing eyewear.
• Serve as a center of excellence, focusing on first-time accuracy and modeling our service and selling standards.
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to their needs, lifestyle, and budget, and recommend solutions.
• Anticipate and resolve potential problems, exploring underlying causes for recurring issues.
• Show patience and courtesy, educate customers on guarantees and services, and handle measurements and fittings meticulously.
• Ensure eyewear meets optical standards and customer requests, and strive for exceptional results in training and performance.
• Operate POS systems accurately, explain processing times, and guide customers on pickup procedures.
• Maintain store appearance and safety standards, including proper use of protective equipment in the lab.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Part of a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and team skills
• Knowledge of optical theory, merchandise, and store products
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems and technology
• Awareness of fashion trends and embracing change

Preferred Qualifications

• Studying for LensCrafters Certification in Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting
• Optical dispensing experience and previous retail/customer service experience
