Job summary

Honolulu Museum of Art seeks a Lending Collection Manager to guide the lending collection, curate hands-on lending boxes, and help develop HoMA’s Curiosity Hub. You’ll work with Learning & Engagement, curators, designers, and IT to expand access to object-based learning across Hawaiʻi.

The role blends collections care, education, and community outreach. The ideal candidate leads with curiosity, collaboration, and a service mindset, advancing HoMA’s mission while managing workflows and statewide

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, art history, education, or related field.
• 3 years in library services, collections management, or education.
• Familiarity with collections management standards and LIS concepts.
• Ability to develop and implement access-friendly programs.
• Strong collaboration and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Lending Collection, including circulation policies and conservation.
• Curate hands-on lending boxes for tours, gallery experiences, and education programs.
• Lead development and operations of the Curiosity Hub for object-based learning.
• Collaborate with Learning & Engagement, curatorial, design, and IT teams.
• Support grant writing, reporting, and program budgets.
