Job summary

Texas Bank and Trust is seeking a Lending Support Specialist to assist loan officers with daily processes, document prep, and closings in a fast-paced banking environment.

You will handle loan applications, pull credit reports, organize closing documents, and coordinate funding while maintaining confidentiality and delivering courteous service to customers and staff. Strong computer skills with Word and Excel, and the ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with relevant experience.
  • Three years banking experience or equivalent; lending experience preferred.
  • Proficient in computer (Word and Excel) and general office skills.
  • Good command of loan documentation and credit related processes, including vehicle title transactions.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise initiative to meet customer needs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass and maintain satisfactory results for Trusted Advisor Certification
  • Ability to maintain customer confidentiality
  • Knowledge of basic math calculations
  • Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; uses grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work well within team environment presenting a positive customer service demeanor and attitude
  • Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.

Responsibilities

  • Provides lending support to the loan officers within the department.
  • Answer telephones in a teamwork environment, relay messages and handle inquiries or problems independently whenever possible.
  • Take loan applications, gather information for loan request, pull a credit report and prepare information for loan officer to review.
  • Prepare worksheets for new and renewal loans; monitor coming due loans.
  • Process data input for consumer and commercial non-real estate loans in the loan software.
  • Organize final loan documents, set and conduct closings, accomplish post-closing funding and documentation tasks.
  • Perform daily tasks with a sense of urgency to focus on meeting the needs of our customer, i.e. wire transfers, account transfers, payments, draw requests or any general banking need.
  • Specific loan officer proxy to approve loans with loan officer approval within guidelines of loan policy and loan officer lending limits.
  • Assist loan officer in gathering financial information from customer.
  • Assist loan officer with overdrafts and past due loan payments.
  • Approve checks and deposits when the tellers call.
  • Complete Adverse Action Notices on loan declines.
  • Clear and work exception lists per loan officer request.
  • Notary services for customers.
  • Other duties as requested by their supervisor or other management representatives of the bank.

Job description

Provide lending support to the loan officers within the department. Processes data input for loans originated or renewed on the loan software and coordinate, close and fund the loan. Answer telephones in a teamwork environment, act as a liaison with other bank personnel, customers and prospective clients.

Provides secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers at all times. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships.

Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills in order to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.
