Job description

Posting Area: Operations + Manufacturing

Starting Pay: $16-18/hr. Position is on 2nd Shift.

2nd shift hours: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Fingerjointer Machine Operator adds value by leading the Fingerjointer team to achieve quantity and quality production goals. The expectation is to take ownership of the designated work center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety (strictly enforced). Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to read specs and measurements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery in order to reduce downtime.
  • Operate machine at 100 lugs per minute to achieve production standards.
  • Learn quality aspect of product in order to reduce waste.
  • Ability to work in a teamwork setting.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to locate information on PLC screen and write it down with accuracy.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
  • Mechanical ability a plus.
  • Workable knowledge using PLC screens (a plus).

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly bend wrists.
  • Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning.
  • Occasional pushing/holding back material.
  • Occasionally required to stand (up to 12 hours) and walk.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Exposure to heat and cold extremes at times.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc).
