Job summary

Woodgrain is seeking a Fingerjointer Machine Operator for the 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm). Starting pay is $16-18 per hour with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. The role requires reading specs, operating the machine, and helping drive production goals on the line.

You will lead a small team, troubleshoot on downtime, and follow detailed instructions to ensure accurate measurements and high-quality outputs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Leadership experience is a plus.
• Ability to read specs and measurements.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery to reduce downtime.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work in a teamwork setting.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to locate information on PLC screen and record accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate Fingerjointer machine at 100 lugs per minute to meet production standards.
• Lead Fingerjointer team to achieve quantity and quality goals.
• Adhere to safety policies and complete safety trainings.
• Read and interpret specs, measurements, and PLC outputs.
• Learn product quality aspects to minimize waste.
• Maintain attention to detail and teamwork on the line.

Starting Pay $16-18/ hr. 1st Shift

Hours 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

The Fingerjointer Machine Operator adds value by leading Fingerjointer team to achieve quantity and quality production goals. The expectation is to take ownership of the designated work center.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safety (strictly enforced). Mandatory attendance of all assigned safety training and adherence to all safety policies and practices.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to read specs and measurements.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery in order to reduce downtime.
• Operate machine at 100 lugs per minute to achieve production standards.
• Learn quality aspect of product in order to reduce waste.
• Ability to work in a teamwork setting.
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to follow instructions both verbally and written
• Ability to locate information on PLC screen and write it down with accuracy.

Requirements

• Leadership Experience is a plus
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Mechanical ability a plus
• Workable knowledge using PLC screens (a plus)

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
