NRI Staffing is seeking a Legislative Specialist to support a national law firm’s federal government relations practice in Washington, DC. This junior-level role offers a hybrid schedule with on-site four days and one at-home day, totaling 35 hours weekly, with overtime as needed.

You will assist with legislative research, track Congress activity, prepare client materials, and attend hearings. Recent Capitol Hill internship experience required.

Qualifications

• Recent Capitol Hill internship experience.
• Understanding of the legislative process and congressional organization.
• Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage competing assignments and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and quick adaptability to new tools including AI.

Responsabilités

• Support Government Policy Advisors with legislative research, writing, and communications.
• Track legislation, calendars, committee activity, and floor developments.
• Attend meetings and hearings and gather testimony and other records.
• Draft background reports, memoranda, presentations, and client materials.
• Keep the government relations team informed of legislative developments.
