Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Iowa.
• Two (2) years of related full-time equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years of legislative experience (preferred).
• Experience in legal research and writing (preferred).
• Experience interpreting or communicating legislative changes (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive legal research and develop proposed amendments.
• Prepare briefing materials and legislative summaries.
• Establish and maintain a process for monitoring, logging, and tracking legislation.
• Keep internal stakeholders informed of developments and bill status.
• Analyze legislation and amendments for legal, operational, and administrative impacts.
• Collaborate with State Court Administration on implementing new laws.
• Provide legal counsel on legislation and regulatory compliance.
