Job summary

Colorado Legislative Council Staff in Denver seeks a Legislative Fiscal Analyst to analyze and write fiscal impact statements on proposed legislation and ballot measures, and to answer questions about fiscal impact from legislators, lobbyists, government officials, and the public. This role requires nonpartisan analysis in a partisan environment and develops objective information on policy choices.

You will join an experienced team of policy and budget analysts, prepare fiscal notes and revenue

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: degree in public policy, public administration, economics, political science or related field; or two years of related experience.
  • Ability to analyze fiscal impact statements and write research papers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and write fiscal impact statements on proposed legislation and ballot measures.
  • Respond to questions about fiscal impact from legislators, lobbyists, government officials, and the public.
  • Write research papers and issue briefs; assist with the Blue Book voter guide.
