The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of state government. The Office is led by Comptroller Jason E. Mumpower, a constitutional officer who is elected by the Tennessee General Assembly.

The Comptroller of the Treasury is recruiting to fill a position within our Division of Local Government Audit. This position will be responsible for conducting audits in the Mid-East region of Tennessee. Legislative Auditors are responsible for external audit work in accordance with professional auditing standards. Responsibilities may include examining and reviewing records, reports, financial statements, and management practices for state and local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds. For Local Government Auditors, travel is required but is generally confined to same day commutes to and from a job site. Overnight stays may be required, as necessary.
