Job Description

The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) seeks a Legislative and Policy Counsel to support cutting-edge legal and policy advocacy aimed at ending tobacco-related disease, the nation’s leading cause of preventable death. The Campaign is the leading policy advocacy organization dedicated primarily to countering the lethal influence of the tobacco industry on public policy. This position is based in Washington, D.C., and reports to the Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs.

What You’ll Accomplish:
  • Provide legal and policy guidance in analyzing federal, state, and local legislation affecting tobacco control efforts. Help develop and advocate for innovative legislative and regulatory proposals addressing tobacco product use, including e-cigarettes and other products appealing to young people.
  • Support the Campaign’s litigation activities related to FDA regulation and the defense of state and local tobacco control laws.
Skills You’ll Bring To The Role:
  • 3-5 years of legal experience.
  • Prior experience in legislative drafting and policy analysis is required.
