Job summary

Sentar is seeking a Legislative Affairs Specialist in Fort Meade, MD to support a DoD client by analyzing congressional transcripts and preparing Questions for the Record and Inserts for the Record. The role involves monitoring defense legislation, coordinating with government officials, and briefing senior leadership with background papers, talking points, and statements.

Role Description:

Provide support for a DoD client. Review and analyze congressional hearing transcripts and prepare and submit Questions for the Record (QFR) and Inserts for the Record (IFR). Monitor the status of defense legislation, pertinent hearings, markups, and floor actions. Prepare client staff for congressional hearings, and respond to congressional inquiries. Coordinate with appropriate government officials to obtain review and approval. Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in the legislative affairs field or with department-level planning or execution
• Experience with legislative and regulatory documents
• Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process

• Possession of excellent organizational skills
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Clearance Level:

Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
