Job summary

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Information Systems or Data Analytics and 4–6 years in talent analytics or systems support within a professional services setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain VI by Aderant and other talent technology platforms.
  • Act as liaison between Talent Management and IS product owners to configure systems.
  • Train users and develop/maintain guides and SOPs.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and improvements.
  • Ensure data accuracy across platforms and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows via automation.
  • Support change management for new tools/processes.
  • Benchmark compensation metrics against industry standards.
  • Design and maintain dashboards tracking KPIs like new hire performance and retention.
  • Support LPC coordination on employed lawyer compensation.
  • Assist with research, budgeting, and firm data tracking.
  • Support additional Talent Management initiatives as needed.

Job description

Thompson Hine LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm regularly recognized for our commitment to Innovation, Inclusion, and collaborative culture is seeking a Legal Systems & Data Analyst to join the Talent Management department in any of our following offices: Chicago, Cleveland, or Columbus. The Legal Systems & Data Analyst is responsible for optimizing legal technology platforms and leveraging data insights to support strategic talent management decisions.

This role ensures the smooth operation of systems used for lateral attorney recruitment, professional development, compensation, and inclusion, while capturing, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable intelligence for firm management, practice group leaders (PGLs), and the talent management team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and maintain VI by Aderant (i.e., ATS, performance management, work allocation), and other talent technology platforms as identified.
  • Act as a liaison between the Talent Management team and the Information Systems technical product owner(s) to configure systems based on evolving talent management and firm needs.
  • Train users on VI system and develops or maintains user guides and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze process data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure data accuracy across all platforms and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation or system integration.
  • Support change management initiatives related to new tools or processes.
  • Benchmark internal compensation metrics against industry standards and peer firms.
  • Conceptualize, design and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPls, including new hire performance and retention. Analyze data for trends, conduct equity checks, and identify recommended actions.
  • Support the employed lawyer compensation process in coordination with the Lawyer Personnel Committee (“LPC”).
  • Assist with specialized research and benchmarking, budgeting, and the tracking of firm data at various levels.
  • Support additional Talent Management team efforts as requested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The employee may be asked to perform additional duties not listed in the job description as required by business needs.
  • Attend Talent Management team meetings.
  • Expected to be available to attend some after-hours and/or out of town training and integration events, as needed.
  • Stay current on trends in the legal industry.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field preferred.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience in talent management operations, data analytics, or systems support, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.

Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The estimated salary ranges for these locations are the following: Cleveland is $92,500 to $115,500 and Chicago is $97,040 to $121,500
