Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance Company is seeking a Legal Support to transcribe and process documents. After in-person training, this role may offer hybrid work up to one day per week.

The position involves dictation transcription, proofreading, filing and mail prep, plus assisting in equipment maintenance and other duties as required. Strong typing and grammar are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Typing at least 55 words per minute with ≤5 errors in 5 minutes.
• Above-average grammar and spelling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Corrections, revisions, and retyping as needed.
• Maintains and uses office equipment; assists with supplies.
• Prepares mail and filing; performs other duties as assigned.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Legal Support. The position requires the following, but is not limited to:

• Transcribes letters, reports, or other recorded data using dictation equipment, electric typewriters and/or word processing typewriters.
• The dictation will involve a normal range of business vocabulary and specialized insurance business terminology.
• Makes necessary corrections, revisions and retyping as may be necessary.
• Maintains equipment in a clean and workable fashion.
• Assists in the handling of necessary supplies.
• Prepares mail and does filing as required.
• Assists in other duties as assigned in the department or elsewhere on request.

Desired Skills & Experience

• High school education or its equivalent is preferred
• Type at least 55 words per minute with no more than 5 errors in a 5 minute test
• Above average ability in grammar and spelling
