Job summary

Husson University in Bangor, ME invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Legal Studies to begin Spring 2027 on the Bangor campus. The successful candidate will teach in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats, and engage in scholarly teaching and service consistent with university standards.

The position requires a JD or PhD in Legal Studies or related field, proven teaching excellence, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or PhD in Legal Studies or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching with ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in legal studies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with commitment to diversity and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits per academic year across courses such as Introduction to Legal Studies and Legal Research and Writing.
• Advise students and assist with curriculum development and program activities.
• Participate in School, College, and University committees and service.
