Job summary

Safelite Group, Inc. is seeking a Legal Specialist, Labor and Employment to support in-house counsel with day-to-day employment legal matters, including litigation support, agency charges, discovery, and records requests.

The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of relevant experience, a degree (associate/bachelor) with a paralegal certificate preferred, and familiarity with HRIS systems such as Workday.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience supporting legal, compliance, HR, employee relations, or litigation-related work preferred.
  • Experience with employment litigation processes, agency charges, subpoenas, or discovery preferred.
  • Experience with legal matter management, document management, or e‑discovery systems preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in investigations and responses to federal/state employment charges, lawsuits, and subpoenas; organize data and documents for discovery.
  • Draft basic correspondence, memoranda, and employment agreements under counsel guidance.
  • Maintain records in legal matter management systems; act as case administrator for assigned matters.
  • Monitor inquiries through departmental channels and respond as needed.
  • Conduct basic employment law research to support business inquiries.

A Brief Overview

The Legal Specialist, Labor and Employment provides foundational legal and project support to Safelite’s in-house employment counsel. This role supports day‑to‑day execution of employment legal matters, including litigation support, agency charges, discovery, and records requests. The Legal Project Specialist is comfortable working independently, has core employment law knowledge, and develops proficiency in legal processes, systems, and documentation standards.

What You Will Do
  • Assist in the investigation and response to federal and state employment charges, lawsuits, claims, and attorney demand letters; collect, organize, and prepare data and documents for subpoenas, records requests, and discovery, including e‑discovery.
  • Draft basic correspondence, memoranda, and employment agreements under the direction of legal counsel.
  • Maintain and organize records for employment matters in the legal matter management system, serve as case administrator for assigned matters, and support departmental projects and responses to inquiries from counsel and internal partners.
  • Monitor, triage, and respond to inquiries received through the Legal Department mailbox, incoming mail, and CSC portal.
  • Complete basic employment law research to respond to inquiries from the business.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
What You Will Need

Expected Work Location (In Office)
